Over the weekend of March 26th and 27th, 12 Lion volunteers huddled around the log splitter and in 12 hours split over 10 cords of wood in preparation for next winters firewood delivery for those in need. The firewood program is one of the Gabriola Island Lions Club’s signature activities.
Under the leadership of Lion (Chop Master) Mike, a small group of Lions split over 3 cords of wood in less than 3 hours. A big thank you goes to Joe McDonnell with his custom built wood splitter and barbeque pit.
Gabriola Island Lions held a bottle drive on February 26th at the old Fire Hall, raising $800 which was presented to the 9th Annual Wounded Warrior Vancouver Island 2022 run.
