This year’s Concert on the Green, August 7th 2024, will be a Gabriola version of the British invasion for 2025. The concert features Sticky Fingers, a well regarded Rolling Stones tribute band that hails from Vancouver. Opening for the Sticky Fingers is The Boyltes, a tribute band of The Beatles that has a Gabriola connection.

As Canada’s foremost tribute to The Rolling Stones, STICKY FINGERS delivers the compete experience of this iconic band. Fronted by charismatic Londoner Stuart Turnbull as “Mick”, STICKY FINGERS meticulously recreates everything that makes a live Stones show so unique… delivering The Music, The Energy, and The Charisma of the greatest Rock & Roll band of all time.
Stuart Turnbull is “Mick”
Born and raised in London England, Stuart is the quintessential front-man, delivering Mick Jagger’s personality, energy and charisma to every performance. Career highlights include playing with the Juno award-winning Powder Blues Band and performing throughout Canada with the TELUS Webtones.
Brian Meadows is “Keith”
Master guitarist Brian expertly recreates the Stone’s rich sound and Keith Richards’ iconic licks. Brian is a former winner of the Battle of the Corporate Bands and also stars as “Jimmy Page” with popular Led Zeppelin Tribute band: “The Ocean”.
Ted Boynton is “Chuck”
A staple in BC’s music scene since 1980, Ted has toured the BC and Alberta “A” circuit extensively with bands such as “Bad Boys” and “Big Time”, and more recently “The Tunes”…. he brings the classic Ian Stewart and Chuck Leavell licks and tight harmonies.
Matt Pavan is “Charlie”
Another former touring pro, and now one of BC’s most sought-after drummers, Matt is as entertaining to watch as he is technically gifted. The late Charlie Watts would be proud!
Allan Nakatsu is “Bill”
Working with Brian and Stuart for over 15 years, Al delivers Bill Wyman’s style and rock-solid foundation, anchoring the bands authentic Rolling Stones sound.
Laura Simpson is “Lisa”
Joining the band in 2024, Laura adds another dimension to the band, as Lisa Fisher, the Rolling Stones backup singer and star of the documentary “20 Feet From Stardom”. Laura received a standing ovation for Gimme Shelter in her debut performance with STICKY FINGERS.
The concert will begin with this Vancouver band that has links to Gabriola. The Boytles started life years ago when youngsters that loved the music of the Beatles started a band that delivered an iconic sound that moved audiences. Over the years, they have evolved into a band that will take you back in time when the 60’s was such a swinging time.

Gabriola has a community bus that travels around the island from the ferry to the concert location. However, its route is clockwise meaning that the time from the ferry to the concert venue will be approximately 30 minutes. So plan accordingly. The route to take is the red coloured Silva Bay line.
