This year’s Concert on the Green, August 8th 2024, promises to be an upbeat, memorable and totally danceable event that features Vancouver’s Avalanche and opens with Gabriola’s The Poynter Project. This family-friendly concert will be one that you simply cannot miss!

The Poynter Project is a musical group that plays the tunes you didn’t know you wanted to hear! Whether it be Motown, Soul, R&B, Rock or a classic from any decade, they will ignite their audiences and keep them moving, grooving, smiling & singing from the moment they hit the stage.
Born out of various local bands like Purple Kush’n Funk Unit and The Paul Gellman Band, The Poynter Project is fronted by vibrant songstress Nicole Poynter and led by seasoned guitarist Brad Shipley. They are joined by the delightful and talented Brian McMahon on bass, Paul Gellman on keys, and special guest Jesse Capon on drums.

Gabriola has a community bus that travels around the island from the ferry to the concert location. However, its route is clockwise meaning that the time from the ferry to the concert venue will be approximately 30 minutes. So plan accordingly. The route to take is the red coloured Silva Bay line.
