Gabriola Island Lions held a bottle drive on February 26th at the old Fire Hall, raising $800 which was presented to the 9th Annual Wounded Warrior Vancouver Island 2022 run.
The Wounded Warriors is a national mental health service provider that has been formed to honour and support Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, Veterans, First Responders and their families.
Over many days, the Gabriola Lions bottle drive, organized by President Lion Betsy and Lion Sandy resulted in “sort day” where a group of Lions volunteers sorted cans, bottles & containers that netted over 7 truckloads of easy money for delivery to Nanaimo. Over the top amazing! Our island community comes through every time!
